Nine Cubes

The building blocks for open agent coordination already exist: encrypted tunnels with post-quantum key exchange, CoreDNS for names, SPIFFE for identity, MLS for group encryption, DNS-SD for discovery. But nobody has assembled them. Nine cubes. Three layers. The assembly that doesn't exist yet — until now.

Colony Founding Sequence

Boot order is not a checklist — it is a growth pattern. Each stage is viable on its own. Each stage enables the next.

  1. 01 Mud

Bare substrate. Encrypted tunnel, Secure Enclave key, DNS-SD beacon. The ground exists.

  2. 02 Spore

mud + sign boot. Substrate and identity exist.

  3. 03 Scout

bus comes up. First messages flow.

  4. 04 Worker

quick spawns the first agents. Heartbeats begin.

  5. 05 Forager

lore starts accumulating. Knowledge enters the ground.

  6. 06 Researcher

    biblio indexes. conceptCUBE begins reasoning.

  7. 07 Ambassador

matrix bridges to other proving grounds.

  8. 08 Artisan

kiln accepts build jobs. Artifacts are produced.

  9. 09 Colony

All nine cubes live. The proving ground is whole.

Boot Order

  1. 1 mudCUBE always-on, no deps
  2. 2 signCUBE depends on mudCUBE
  3. 3 busCUBE depends on sign + mud
  4. 4 quickCUBE depends on sign + bus + mud
  5. 5 loreCUBE depends on sign + bus + mud
  6. 6 biblioCUBE depends on lore + sign
  7. 7 conceptCUBE depends on lore + biblio + bus
  8. 8 matrixCUBE depends on bus + sign + mud
  9. 9 kilnCUBE depends on all five duties
